NYC
This past weekend 47 students went on a trip to NYC with chaperones, Darin, Kathy, and Jeff MacFarlane and Suzanne Ducharme. The students arrived on Thursday around 2pm and participated in an improv workshop. Then went to dinner at Señor Frogs, before heading to a magical performance of Aladdin. After the show students were lucky enough to be able to attend a talk back with four of the performers from the show. At this talk back the troupe donated $350 to Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids.
Day two consisted of tours of both the Rockefeller Center, and the Empire State Building. Students then attended dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe before seeing Les Misérables.
The final day closed with a Musical Theater workshop taught by Andrew Cao, an Aladdin cast member and dancer who taught them the opening number "Arabian Nights". Afterword, they walked Central Park and saw the John Lennon memorial "Strawberry Fields" and the "Imagine Circle". This fun weekend closed with a bus tour of other areas of NYC.
